Crow's Nest Garden
A vision for an original formal garden and new residence occupying 2.5 ac of upland river bluff in urban Indianapolis was developed in close collaboration with the owners. Socially active, the owners sought a garden to accommodate large groups and intimate gatherings, provide gracious entry and private escape. The result is a unique collection of linked garden rooms separated by hedges. Rainwater collected in buried cisterns will be used to supply garden irrigation, porous pavement will absorb roadway storm water, and excess surface runoff will collect in a sedge garden. A variety of shade, sun, herbal, vegetable, and wooded gardens will wrap the residence. The scale and diversity of this garden is unique to Indianapolis. Indianapolis . Indiana |
