Westfield/Guilford Canal Terrace
A prime directive throughout our work along the Canal in Broad Ripple Village was to remove both point and non-point sources of pollution entering this primary source of drinking water for Indianapolis. This work represented the last remaining source to be addressed. A secondary issue dealt with securing a public easement/access that didn’t existed along this segment of the Canal. Unifying a motley collection of private parking lots helped promote more efficient use and capture of surface drainage into a vegetated bioswale to absorb and disperse stormwater, cleansing and diverting it away from the Canal. This fully documented effort also aimed to remove invasive plants and stabilize an eroding embankment which was slumping into the Canal.
