The Cottages at the Village of West Clay
Taking an awkward remnant property within a New Urbanism Community we worked with the developer to create a neighborhood designed around a wooded pedestrian esplanaded community with a friendly park-like setting of porches. A series of planned residential esplanades built between 1876 and 1928 in Louisville, Kentucky provided the inspiration and documentation that guided the construction of an affordable, quiet refuge for young families. Public response was overwhelming and all 30 modest homes based on regional vernacular architecture were purchased and erected in less than two years.
