SCOPING DOCUMENT / ACTION PLAN / PHASE 1. A series of successive projects that laid the foundation for the re-development of the Canal as a significant and needed pedestrian destination in what has been perceived as a pedestrian-friendly Cultural District. In addition to defining components of future Canal redevelopment, projecting phases and cost forecasts, outlining funding strategies, and suggesting long term maintenance and care for all improvements, we also designed and oversaw the initial three phases of construction including removal of an ill-considered 1950's concrete parking deck over the canal, a new pedestrian and bike bridge providing a direct connection between two Greenway Trails, and the stabilization and creation of a new pedestrian-oriented embankment.
